North County Fire Protection District Ambulance Project
The purpose of the grant agreement is to assist the North County Fire Protection District (NCFPD) in defraying the purchase cost of a new ambulance for medical transport. The closure of the Fallbrook Hospital Emergency Department in November 2014, and the full hospital in July 2015 resulted in an increased burden on the NFCPD's ambulance transportation to other local area hospitals.
The original agreement was for $100,000, paid out over a 48-month period, beginning with the fiscal year ending 6/30/16–from March 1, 2016, through February 29, 2020.
A second agreement was made in 2020, to last until June 2024, provided a 50% cost sharing for refurbishment or purchase of new ambulances.
These agreements among our two special districts have resulted in residents having access superior medical emergency response support.
